His name – Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao also known as Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao.
A pro boxer at the age of 16, Manny has underwent a great many trials and hardship in life to be where he is today. At the age of 14, he had to leave his home to fend for himself and to find a better life to be able to assist his family members. The rest they say is history. Today at 31, he’s the sole boxer in history to win world titles in seven distinct weight divisions from "major" sanctioning organisations. These include among others: the IBF Super Bantamweight, The Ring Featherweight and WBC as well as the Ring Super Featherweight .
He was elected to a congressional position for a district near his home town on May 13, 2010. This may be a sign of his need to fulfill a higher call than just pure boxing. Whilst arriving at a state that some may not even think about, Manny continues to be true to his simple beginnings sharing his time and resources helping poor households. Manny devotes time and help providing scholarships and grants, medical-related missions and financial assistance to those in need most especially in his home town.
Prior to his election he had been pitted to battle Floyd Mayweather Jr. A match that may never see the light. This leaves Manny with not a great deal of challenges in his boxing career. He has little remaining feats to prove to himself, his family and his country.
However, on November thirteen (Pacquiao vs Margarito), we will experience the awe of this excellent fighter once again. This time competing for the WBC Super Welterweight World title. Should he obtain victory, this will his eighth title from yet another weight division. It has been very difficult for critics to accept what Manny has reached as none of us in history has really achieved what he has carried out.
